Adventures in Sound

Feeling very very lucky this year! Cultivator Cornwall have awarded me funding to develop my skills in sound design, which not only is going to really enhance my self-shooting work but is something I'm also developing into a skill in itself.

In May I attended a course in Narrative Sound Design at the National Film and Television School, led by the legendary Larry Sider, and was introduced to the world of sound and the role it plays in storytelling.

Sound is often a chronically under-used tool to shape a narrative, and its ability to guide where we look, what we feel, and even who we care about in a story, is something I'm keen to make better use of.
